Taste of UAImagine each of your favorite foods from local restaurants combined into one big picnic. The annual Taste of UA event, held at Northam Park, draws a crowd of more than 12,000 people as it showcases local restaurants and businesses. This year's Taste of UA will be August 14th from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Northam Park. Admission is free.

UAPA will have a booth at the event and we'd like to see you there to volunteer at our booth or just to browse around.

There will be food-judging contest in the categories Appetizer, Entree & Dessert as well as People's Choice and Children's Choice. Tony Bova, a new UAPA contributor, offered these suggested menu items:

  • Desserts: Missing Yellowcake, Alberto Gonzales fudge, Dick Cheney Energy Policy Bars (we won't show you the ingredients), Impeach cobbler, Policy upside-down cake, Zero-emission no-bake cookies
  • Entrees: Congressional Pork chops, Baloney a la Bush, King George salmon, Meatless sausages called "fake links to 9/11"
  • Appetizers: "Left" wings, with your choice of sauces, served next to "Right" wings with no choice of sauces

It's a great event and we hope to see you there!

The Ohio Statehouse
Columbus, OH 43215

What: Take A Stand Town Hall: Our Take A Stand Town Hall and Stand Up Vigil is part of a nation-wide organizing drive to demand that members of Congress and the Senate take a stand with the vast majority of Americans who want a safe and responsible redeployment of American Forces from Iraq. Here in Columbus, we are calling on Representative Deborah Pryce and Senator Voinovich to vote with their constitutents against endless war.

Our event will include great speakers like Iraq war veterans and their families, a showing of our Take A Stand video highlighting the local anti-war organizing efforts from this past summer, as well as live entertainment. After the town meeting, there will be a Stand Up Vigil outside of the Statehouse.

The event location is handicap accessible and there is parking in the City Center.
